In the exciting second match of third round, ninth seeded Vaz managed to secure their spot in the Quarterfinals with their final question. At the end of the Opening segment, Vaz Prep from Kingston had a 9-6 lead over Broughton Primary from Westmoreland.
Vaz held on to their lead in the Buzzer Challenge winning this segment 25-24. Vaz had a scare in the Buzzer Challenge, Broughton quickly gained the lead but poor buzzer management saw Broughton losing unnecessary points. Broughton’s hopes for a place in the Quarterfinals came to an end when Vaz answered a question moments before the final buzzer to take a one point victory.
